Welcome to Map Pedometer. We checked some of the points on your route and the elevation at the points that we checked are accurate.

We do not currently have localized versions of our website. Our site is only in English.

The elevation statistics are calculated based on the elevation data for the route. An algorithm is used to eliminate elevation changes that are not "meaningful". For example, if the elevation on a route continually changed plus or minus 2 feet, those elevation changes would not be included in the elevation statistics.

The elevation statistics reported on Map Pedometer help you compare elevation changes on your Map Pedometer routes. Other websites or tools may use a different algorithm/threshold for determining elevation changes. So, they may report different statistics. We will perform some additional research to determine if the statistics reported for your route are substantially different from other elevation statistic tools. We could update our algorithm with a higher minimum elevation threshold. That change would lower the overall elevation changes reported on the site.
