Can I add a walking path in our neighborhood that is not included on the main map?

Yes. Making edits to the maps are encouraged. Visit the openstreetmap website edit page here: https://www.openstreetmap.org/edit

There is a detailed walk-through on their website describing how to edit the map. Changes that you make typically take about two weeks until they are fully available on Map Pedometer.
