Map Pedometer is not designed for routes that long. It is designed for walking, running, cycling, etc.
Creating a detailed turn by turn route for that distance is too large. If you want to create a route with less detail, use the "Straight line" mapping mode to create your route. You can create very long routes if you do not need detailed routing along the way.
