missing structural feature

On my route there are missing stairs that takes one from one street to another which involves considerable elevation change. When I attempted to plot my points as soon as I got onto the sidewalk to stairs point the map automatically took me back to the driveable street. The location of the stairs is in Reno, NV between Keystone ave and California Ave. This is the location Google Maps identified 39°30'59.1"N 119°49'31.3"W. Zoom into the map, locate the 270° horseshoe of California and Keystone avenues, at ground level (plant materials) note the straight concrete, at the extreme east end is the bottom of the stairs and they rise up and come out onto California ave.

It would be very helpful if you could enter these as one can't walk of the road and be safe.

I attempted to get this done with google maps 'missing place' and it could not take the info as they are looking for a place with an address. If there is a place other than the forum to enter a missing structural feature of a walk / hike / bike trip it isn't obvious to me.

Thanks again for the map pedometer and its forum!

We don't have any control over the missing features on Google Maps and do not know how you can inform them about this issue.

Unfortunately, you can't use the automatic routing to create a route along the stairway. However, you can create a Map Pedometer route along the stairway by switching the routing mode from Run/Walk to Straight Line. Create your route points using the Run/Walk mode until you are close to the stairway. Switch the routing mode to Straight Line. Create a path along the stairway by clicking on the map. Then, switch back to Run/Walk mode.

For reporting the missing stairway, you can go to http://maps.google.com, zoom in to the area, right click the map, and then select "Report a problem".
