Thanks,

Understood and I now can see the "very large map" I wanted.

Is it possible to populate Google calendar with my activity log from the Map Pedometer?

No, that feature doesn't exist. Thank you for the suggestion.

I stumbled onto this site, but I recently started walking to lose weight and wanted to know how far I'm walking. I can't figure out how to get the distance I'm walking

The distance of the route is displayed on the upper left corner of the map.

Something is very wrong in the upgrade with the Chicago maps. My address shows up at a building a block down the street, obvious pathways are not registering as usable, intersections are not crossing. Can I revert back to the old version? It worked perfectly.

We made substantial changes to Map Pedometer recently and will continue to make upgrades soon. Many of the services used by our site have changed and we may need to fine tune the new services.

> My address shows up at a building a block down the street

Can you provide us an address that does not resolve to the correct location? You can click the "Contact Map Pedometer" link on the bottom of any forum page to send us an email so that you do not need to post the address on this public forum. After we receive the information, we will research the issue to identify if it is a service provider issue.

> obvious pathways are not registering as usable, intersections are not crossing

The routing service provider that we are using has changed. Today, we made another modification to how routing is performed. Please retry the routing that you were having trouble with today to see if our modification has helped. You can also switch to the Straight line routing mode as needed to get around any problematic routing issue.

> Can I revert back to the old version? It worked perfectly.

Sorry, but we can't revert back to the old version. Please have patience while we correct any issues introduced by the recent change to our site.

Thank you for your feedback and feel free to post/email any additional specific problems that you encounter.

New maps

Post by williamayc »

My neighborhood maps were previously up-to-date as far as the completed streets in the area, now they are several years out-of-date and are missing numerous sections. The saved maps still have the routes I previously used, but the "new" underlying maps don't reflect the streets that are here now.

Also, when I try and load a saved route to the main map, nothing happens.

If the maps can't be updated soon, I guess I'll just have to go looking elsewhere again. Thanks, I have enjoyed this site up to this point.

We switched from Google Maps to Open Street Maps. Open Street Maps are open source maps that can be edited and improved by users. If you like, you can help improve the maps by editing them to add the missing information. A description of the editing process is at: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Beginners%27_guide If you don't want to edit the maps, click on the Contact Map Pedometer link at the bottom of any forum page to send us an email with the details. We would be happy to submit the map edits to help improve Open Street Maps.

Can you provide more information about the problem you are encountering loading and saving routes? Which browser and browser version are you using? You can send us an email by clicking on the Contact Map Pedometer link at the bottom of any forum page.

Thanks for this great service you provide!
I've used it to map out my walks for the past few years and find it :D invaluable.
